From Passion to Practice: How I started Double G Equine Bodywork

For as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted a career in the horse world—something hands-on that allowed me to truly help horses feel their best. I’ve always been drawn to connecting with horses on a deeper level, finding ways to communicate through touch, feel, and observation. That’s what led me to equine bodywork.

It All Started with Irish

My first introduction to bodywork came through my own horse, Irish. He had a sore back, and we brought in a bodyworker to help him feel better. Watching how he responded to that session—and the change it made—planted a seed in my mind that never really went away.

Bodywork Kept Showing Up

Over the years, equine bodywork kept appearing in my life, even when it wasn’t my main focus. While working with racehorses in Kentucky, I saw how bodywork was used regularly to support recovery and performance. Later, while working at a farm in New Hampshire, it became a consistent part of every horse’s care plan.

That’s when it started to feel real. Like something I could actually pursue—not just something I admired from the sidelines.

Taking the Leap

Even though equine massage had always been in the back of my mind, it felt like a big step. Sure I was pursing a degree in Equine Science but becoming an equine bodyworker required a whole other level of schooling. But after earning my degree, completing an internship in the racing industry, and gaining experience in several different horse environments, I realized I was ready to start that process.

I decided to take the leap, follow what I had been drawn to for so long, and build a business around something that truly lights me up. That is how I found the Equinology Institute.

Welcome to Double G Equine Bodywork

That leap brought me here to Montana—and to the start of my dream career.

I started Double G Equine Bodywork to support horses through hands-on care that restores performance, enhances recovery, and improves overall well-being. Every horse has a story, and every body tells one too. My job is to listen to what they’re showing me and help them feel their best.
